Since its creation, F. Chauvenet has reflected its attachment to and respect for the Burgundian terroir in the making of its wines.
Nice gold yellow color with emerald reflections. The bouquet reveals very nice aromas of citrus and white flowers, with mineral notes and a very fine wood. Round attack, this wine is well balanced and offers a palette of flavors (citrus, mineral, toasted breads, butter). A nice length and a lot of freshness.
Serve on its own, as an aperitif with light starters. Will also be a great companion to all seafood, terrines and fine fish.
This wine reveals the best aromas and flavors when it is served at 14°C. (57°F.).
It can be consumed now or laid down in a cellar for the next 3 years.
100% Chardonnay.
The grapes are harvested by hand and after pressing the grapes, a cold settling of 12 hours at 8°C. (46°F.) is made. Then the juice was put in tank and in barrels (15% new one) for both fermentation alcoholic and malolactic and aged 10 months on its fine lees.
This appellation in the Côte Chalonnaise region of Burgundy is sometimes compared to the wines of the Côte de Beaune, both in terms of red and white wines. The appellation's vineyards cover 485 hectares, two-thirds of which are planted with white grapes, not far from the magnificent vineyards of Puligny Montrachet and Meursault to the north, and Mercurey and Givry to the south.
The Rully vineyard is very old, having been developed by the Dukes of Burgundy. Its vineyards extend over hillsides at an altitude of over 200 metres, overlooking the Saône plain.
The subtle differences between the wines are due to differences in soil, exposure and altitude, which vary considerably in the surrounding area. At heights of 230 to 300 metres, the coastal slopes produce wines that can rival the best wines of the nearby Côte de Beaune.
